NTEU has won another telework decision, this time at the IRS Office of Chief Counsel. 

An arbitrator found that Chief Counsel violated our contract and the law when the agency canceled telework agreements following the president’s January 2025 Presidential Memorandum ordering agencies to bring employees back to the office full time. 

If the agency fails to appeal the award within 30 days, it becomes final. 

This follows a series of similar arbitration wins NTEU has secured at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, Commodities Futures Trading Commission, Customs and Border Protection, Department of Health and Human Services, Internal Revenue Service, National Park Service and Securities and Exchange Commission. NTEU is fighting to enforce these wins.
