Federal Benefits Open Season Starts Next Week: Learn How to Save Money
This year’s Federal Benefits Open Season kicks off Monday, Nov. 8. Federal employees and retirees will have the opportunity to enroll or change their health insurance plans, including dental and vision.
NTEU members will once again have free, exclusive access to the Consumers’ Checkbook Online Guide to Health Plans for Federal Employees and Annuitants. Checkbook helps users pick the right health care plan by comparing costs, looking at quality ratings, and examining flexibility on issues like choice of doctors. Starting Monday and throughout the open season, members will be able to access the online tool here.
Open season is also your chance to enroll or re-enroll in a flexible spending account, which can save federal employees an average of 30 percent by using pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible medical, dental and vision care expenses.
Read the NTEU Bulletin for tips on making the most of the open season.
