NTEU Continues to Notch Telework Arbitration Wins
The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) is the latest agency where NTEU has won an arbitration regarding workplace flexibility.
In a significant victory for employees and their rights, an arbitrator yesterday ruled that BEP violated the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) by attempting to cancel telework and impose the February 20, 2025, return-to-office directive without lawful bargaining.
And earlier this month at Customs and Border Protection (CBP), a different arbitrator similarly ruled that CBP violated the CBA and the federal labor statute when it cancelled all telework in response to the return-to-office directive.
These wins follow similar victories at agencies such as the National Parks Service, Health and Human Services, Securities and Exchange Commission, and Commodities Futures Trading Commission.
While management at BEP and CBP may still appeal these decisions, they are significant vindications in NTEU’s defense of the hard-won rights in your contract. We will continue fighting to hold the administration and agencies accountable and restore your rights.
