NTEU Provides a Primer on Leave Options

These unusual and challenging times have required many federal employees to consider different leave options to manage work and caring for loved ones at home. The good news is that federal employees who need time away from their jobs to care for themselves or family members during this pandemic have several leave options.

To help you make the right decision for you and your family, NTEU has prepared a two-page primer on leave options exclusively for NTEU members. This members-only document outlines the different types of leave and the interplay between them, along with the requirements and considerations around choosing those options. The document covers weather and safety leave, Emergency Paid Sick Leave Under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, advanced sick leave, Family and Medical Leave and other types.
