OPM Encourages Agencies to Expand Telework in New Guidance

The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) last week released updated guidance encouraging agencies to permanently expand telework and remote work.

“The Federal Government, as the nation’s largest employer, is well-positioned to leverage telework, remote work, and other workplace flexibilities to adapt to the changing needs of the workforce of the future,” the guide states.

The new guide is a resource for agencies to use to develop telework policies and replaces OPM’s 2011 version. NTEU continues working at the bargaining table to negotiate agreements that expand telework eligibility to more employees post-pandemic.
