NPS Institutional Grievance – Probationary and Trial Employees Mass Terminations
As noted in a February 27 message last week, NTEU is filing institutional grievances at every agency where probationary and trial employees have been unlawfully fired. On March 5, we filed an institutional grievance at NPS WASO, alleging that NPS’s mass firing of probationary and trial employees violated Articles 31 and 52 of the 2017 Collective Bargaining Agreement, the labor statute and the U.S. Constitution.
The actions that NTEU demands NPS take include:
Return probationary and trial employees to their jobs.
Pay them back pay, where applicable.
No action is required by probationary and trial employees in connection with this grievance. The next step in the process will be a grievance meeting where NTEU will present its case to NPS.
We will keep you updated every step of the way on NTEU’s efforts to fight NPS’s appalling—and illegal—decision to fire probationary and trial employees.
