Deadline Extended to June 7
Fight Back Against Politicizing Federal Jobs
You have extra time to tell OPM why a nonpartisan, merit-based civil service is essential to providing services to the American public.
The deadline has been extended to Saturday, June 7 at 11:59 p.m. to submit comments to OPM opposing regulations that will politicize the workforce, weaken agencies and threaten services to the American people.
Why Submit Comments?
The Trump administration is trying again to shift large numbers of employees into a new, at-will category where they can be more easily fired. Employees in this new category will not be protected from being fired for partisan reasons.
Right now, there are regulations protecting against efforts to replace federal employees with political loyalists. The administration is proposing to take away these protective regulations.
How to Submit Comments
The process is easy, and you can submit comments to OPM in your personal capacity, by name or anonymously.
Need help drafting your comments? The Federal Unionists Network (FUN) compiled a resource on how to craft an effective comment, including FAQs, a list of the most effective arguments, example comments and helpful prompts for ChatGPT.
