Government Funding a Priority as Shutdown Threat Grows Closer
Congress is working on a stopgap funding bill to fund the government until Nov. 21, right before the Thanksgiving recess. However, there is not bipartisan agreement on this approach. Lawmakers are facing a tight timeline, and with only two scheduled session days for Congress after this week, both the House and Senate need to act quickly to send a funding agreement to the president in order to avoid a shutdown before the Sept. 30 end of the fiscal year. NTEU continues to urge Congress to provide agencies with the funding necessary to meet their missions. Make your voice heard. |
