12/19/2025 - President Finalizes 1.0 Percent Pay Raise for 2026

The President has issued an Executive Order (EO) implementing the 1.0 percent across-the-board pay raise for the General Schedule federal workforce. These new pay rates will be effective in the first full pay period of 2026. The new 2026 General Schedule pay tables from OPM can be found on the OPM website here. The pay tables are specific for each designated locality pay area, including Rest of United States (RUS) for those that do not fall into other locality pay areas. The EO also reiterated the President’s call for the Director of the Office of Personnel Management to use other special pay authorities to provide an additional 2.8 percent pay increase for certain law enforcement officials, in line with the 3.8 percent military pay increase. OPM information on the implementation of the law enforcement personnel 2026 special pay rates indicates that CBP law enforcement, including CBP Officers, will likely receive a 3.8% increase in January 2026 but yesterday’s announcement and EO included no additional information on how these special pay rates may be implemented.
