The Office of Personnel Management has issued new pay tables incorporating the 2022 pay raise at every level of the General Schedule and for each locality pay area.
In December, President Biden finalized an average 2.7 percent pay raise for federal employees this year. The 2.7 percent pay increase consists of a 2.2 percent across-the-board increase and an average 0.5 percent increase to locality pay rates, meaning the exact amount of your pay raise varies depending on where you live. There are 53 locality pay areas in 2022 and a “rest of the U.S.” category for those who don’t fall into one of the other areas.
The pay raise goes into effect the first full pay period of this year.
Federal salaries still lag behind those of their counterparts in the private sector. NTEU continues to fight for fair pay for all federal employees.
