November Deadline Set for Employee Vaccinations; New FAQs Available The deadline for federal employees to be fully vaccinated under the new executive order is Nov. 22, according to the Safer Federal Workforce Task Force. Employees have a lot of questions and NTEU is taking those questions directly to the administration in frequent discussions with the Office of Personnel Management, the Safer Federal Workforce Task Force and the Office of Management and Budget. We have created an FAQ document for members that answers some of the questions and new information will be added regularly. The FAQ includes information on who the executive order covers, the legal authority for the order, mask policy, bargaining obligations and more. NTEU still has numerous questions about the new vaccination policy including reasonable accommodation for medical or religious reasons, employee privacy and required documentation. We are working to get these questions, and others, answered and will provide that information when we have it. National Executive Vice President Jim Bailey joined Chapter 49 (IRS Indiana) on its podcast where he discussed the vaccine mandate with Chapter President Duncan Giles and his co-host Larry Lannan, a retired federal employee.
