NTEU Chapter 296 held elections for chapter officers.
Chapter 296 will hold an electronic secret ballot election for the following offices:
- President
- First Vice President
- Second Vice President
- Secretary
- Treasurer
The term of office is 3 years, beginning in January 2021
The official Notice of Nomination and Election of Chapter Officers has been sent by USPS to members' home addresses, as required by law. It was also sent to your email (either work or personal - if it was sent to your work email, please check your junk mail folder), and you can download it from this page. Chapter members (not all bargaining unit members) are eligible to nominate candidates for office, to run for office, and to vote for candidates for office.
Election Schedule:
December 13: Notice of Nomination and Election of Chapter Officers sent
January 6: Nominations due
January 15: Candidates running unopposed will be accepted
January 26: voting begins
February 1: voting closes

Election Report and Notice of Balloting for Two (2) Offices
For several offices, only one nominee accepted the nomination for that office:
President Rudy D'Alessandro
First Vice President Liz Petrella
Secretary Emily Button Kambic
Two (2) nominees accepted a nomination and agreed to become candidates for the office of Second Vice President:
Jennifer Sieracki
Emelda Zuschlag
Two (2) nominees accepted a nomination and agreed to become candidates for the office of Treasurer:
Karen Mudar
Katy Wyman-Young
The election for the offices of Second Vice President and Treasurer will be conducted by electronic secret ballot. Write-in candidates are not allowed. Directions for electronic balloting will be sent to members in good standing (as of November 15, 2020) on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. The information will be sent to members’ National Park Service email addresses and to retired members' personal email addresses.
Members must cast their ballot electronically, by 12:00 pm (noon) on Monday, February 1, 2020. At that time, voting will close and the tally of ballots will be reviewed. The candidate receiving a plurality of votes for each office will be declared the winner of that office. The Committee will report the result of the election to members via email.
