NTEU Slams New Bill Slashing Telework Telework in the federal government continues to be a target on Capitol Hill. The Back to Work Act (S. 4266), introduced by Sens. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), would limit telework to 40 percent of work days in a pay period. The bill would also require agency heads to review and reauthorize employees’ telework agreements annually and monitor their productivity. “NTEU strongly opposes this baseless effort to roll back telework,” said National President Doreen Greenwald. “Telework is an indispensable workplace flexibility that helps federal agencies recruit and retain skilled employees without sacrificing productivity.” Learn more about our fight to protect telework and how you can get involved. |
