NTEU Defends CFPB in Supreme Court Brief NTEU filed a brief today in the U.S. Supreme Court defending the vitally important work that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau does. A federal appellate court has wrongly held—contrary to every other court to consider the issue—that the Bureau’s funding structure is unconstitutional. NTEU’s brief explains why this erroneous decision must be reversed. The CFPB’s funding is fully consistent with the Constitution’s text and Supreme Court precedent. NTEU’s brief also explains the Bureau’s essential role in protecting the American public. CFPB has delivered more than $16 billion to American consumers while handling more than three-million complaints. The Bureau’s dedicated workforce provides critical help for seniors, veterans, college students, and families around the country. NTEU’s brief urges the Supreme Court to ensure that this valuable work continues. Learn more about NTEU’s work in the courts here. |
