House Bill Would Strengthen Telework Programs NTEU strongly supports a House bill that aims to strengthen and expand telework following the success of the program throughout the pandemic. The Telework Metrics and Cost Savings Act (H.R. 7951) would develop standards for collecting data on telework; provide manager training on telework; and require agencies to quantify and report on the cost savings incurred through increased telework. National President Tony Reardon sent a letter to members of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform yesterday urging them to support the measure. “Robust telework programs have already led to the savings of tens of millions of taxpayer dollars due to savings from leasing costs of federal office buildings,” he said. This new legislation builds on the Telework Enhancement Act signed into law more than 10 years ago with NTEU support. |
