Congress Unveils Omnibus Spending Bill Bipartisan congressional leaders early this morning released an omnibus funding bill that would fund the federal government through fiscal year 2023. Most NTEU-represented agencies are in line for much-needed funding increases under this bill. The bill also clears the way for the President to enact an average 4.6 percent pay raise in January, the largest increase for federal employees in 20 years. Congress is facing a tight timeline for passing the bill but leaders from both political parties have expressed support. The Senate is expected to vote on the omnibus as soon as tomorrow, and then the House must approve it and the president must sign the bill before the current continuing resolution expires at the end of Friday. NTEU will provide updates as the legislative process continues, including how the spending bill impacts your agency. |
