Legislation Would Improve Access to FECA Benefits

In a letter sent to the House yesterday, NTEU is urging support for legislation that would improve access to benefits under the Federal Employees’ Compensation Act (FECA), which serves as the workers' compensation program for federal employees.

Under the bipartisan bill (H.R. 6087), employees would be allowed to receive medical care from a nurse practitioner or physician assistant, and have them provide certification of injury.

The House is expected to vote on the bill this week.
