ICYMI: Dental and Vision Benefits Expanded to More Employees

The Office of Personnel Management has finalized a new rule extending eligibility for the Federal Employee Dental and Vision Insurance Program to temporary, seasonal and part-time employees who work at least 130 hours per month for 90 or more days.

Under a previous change, these same groups of employees were made eligible for FEHBP coverage.

Agencies are responsible for notifying affected employees that they are now eligible for the insurance. OPM is holding a special 60-day enrollment period for first-time enrollees to opt into the coverage.
