NTEU is the voice of the federal workforce on Capitol Hill, in the courts, at the bargaining table and in the media. We fight for fair pay and benefits, improved working conditions and other issues that affect the working lives of federal employees.
By working closely with congressional allies, NTEU has repeatedly defeated proposals that would slash retirement benefits and make health insurance more expensive. NTEU also works to secure the funding, resources and staffing federal agencies need to perform their important missions.

NTEU Priority Issues
NTEU's legislative agenda was established during a meeting in Washington, D.C., of the Legislative Advisory Committee. This group of NTEU members from various federal agencies and NTEU chapters spent hours reviewing the legislative landscape for federal employees and then recommended four priority issues to National President Tony Reardon.
