Update on Government Funding for Fiscal Year 2023

With government funding set to expire on December 16, the White House and congressional leaders continue to negotiate an omnibus spending package to fund the government for the remainder of Fiscal Year (FY) 2023. It is likely that another short-term Continuing Resolution (CR) will be needed to provide additional time to draft the final agreement. While both republican and democratic congressional leaders have expressed a preference for passing a full-year funding deal rather than a full-year CR, a full-year CR is still possible if they are unable to reach an agreement. To date, the House has passed nine of the 12 appropriations bills. The Senate has not passed any. As negotiations continue on outstanding funding issues, NTEU will continue to advocate against a shutdown and to ensure that agencies receive necessary funding. I will keep you updated on these developments. For more information click here. |
