OPM Acts on NTEU’s Request to Protect Frontline Employees
The Office of Personnel Management has finalized regulations that would help protect employees from a future Schedule F Executive Order. NTEU acted because Schedule F would move large numbers of federal employees involuntarily from the competitive service to the excepted service to making it easier to fire federal employees. This is good news for every federal employee who honorably performs their job, without regard to political party or candidate. Any future administration determined to politicize the federal workforce will be unable to randomly fire career civil servants without cause under the new regulations proposed by NTEU.
