NTEU Wins Important Telework Decision

Earlier today, NTEU secured a favorable decision that will allow the union to continue to negotiate telework agreements for represented employees.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit found that the Federal Labor Relations Authority misinterpreted NTEU’s proposal regarding telework for employees at the Food and Nutrition Service. As a result, the court vacated the FLRA’s rulings that NTEU’s proposal violated management rights. 

This decision is an important one for the future of telework in the federal government and good news for employees in all agencies who wish to have a say in their work schedules. NTEU is working at FNS and other agencies where the union represents employees to expand telework opportunities even when the pandemic subsides.
