NTEU Urges House Members to Oppose Funding Cuts NTEU is urging Congress to oppose funding cuts to the Food and Drug Administration, Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Food and Nutrition Service and Farm Service Administration as proposed in the House FY 2024 Agriculture and FDA Appropriations bill. “Due to the extreme flaws in this bill and the danger it presents to national health and safety, NTEU asks that you vote NO on the bill,” National President Tony Reardon wrote Thursday to House members. The letter highlights the critically important work of these agencies and presses for adequate funding to ensure this work continues. Reardon also voiced NTEU’s opposition to a provision defunding diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives in federal workplaces. Congress will resume work on fiscal 2024 funding after the August recess. In the meantime, NTEU will continue fighting for adequate funding for all agencies we represent. Learn more |
