New Version of Heroes Act Includes Provisions to Help Federal Employees
Last week, the House passed a condensed version of the Heroes Act that includes several provisions backed by NTEU to help federal employees during the pandemic. The bill originally passed the House in May. Among other positive measures, the bill ensures continued telework for eligible federal employees throughout the pandemic, provides incentives for agencies to expand telework to more employees, allows CBP Officers to stay in their current retirement plans and eliminates out-of-pocket costs for COVID-19 treatment. While we wait to see if the Senate will take up the bill, NTEU will continue working with congressional allies on health and safety and other issues currently impacting federal employees. Read more |
