Legislation to Protect Merit-Based Civil Service Reintroduced

NTEU is strongly supporting bipartisan legislation introduced today to keep the merit-based federal workforce from being politicized.

An October 2020 executive order threatened the nonpartisan professional workforce by potentially moving thousands of jobs into a newly created Schedule F, stripping them of their due process rights and making them easier to fire. President Biden rescinded the order before any employees were affected, but it remains a threat to the federal workforce. Read more
