NTEU Members Join 'Save the Civil Service' Rally on Capitol Hill
NTEU members and National President Doreen Greenwald joined a rally on Capitol Hill today calling on Congress to protect the civil service and preserve the rights of federal workers. They stood in solidarity with several unions and nearly 20 members of Congress at the lunchtime rally hosted by the American Federation of Government Employees. President Greenwald took to the podium to urge federal employees to keep taking action and standing up for the important work they do. “Let us all stand together in solidarity and fight for the country we believe in,” she told the crowd.
Rally Supporting CFPB Draws NTEU Members from Around the Union
Members of Chapter 335 (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) and chapters from the Washington, D.C., area protested outside CFPB headquarters yesterday after the administration ordered employees to stop working. President Greenwald joined NTEU members for the event, which featured remarks from lawmakers who vowed to fight for the agency that provides crucial consumer protections. Earlier this week,NTEU filed two lawsuits to protect CFPB employees and the important financial protections they provide for Americans.
