NTEU in the News: Greenwald, Chapter Leaders Speak Out

During an interview with CNN, National President Doreen Greenwald discussed the Saturday email sent to federal employees and set the record straight about the federal workforce. Read other NTEU statements in NewsweekWashington PostThe HillTime and more.

Here are some recent samples of chapter leaders and members sharing their stories and perspectives in the media. But NTEU has thousands of media hits over these last few weeks, so we definitely haven't seen them all. Please send us your clips to nteu-pr@nteu.org.

NTEU Members Stand in Solidarity with Those Terminated

As we continue to challenge the unwarranted terminations of probationary and temporary employees, every bargaining unit employee who was an NTEU member at the time of their termination will remain a member throughout our various legal challenges to their removals. If you haven’t had a chance yet, please fill out this form.

NTEU needs every member—and your family and friends—to join our fight to prevent further terminations and attacks on federal employees and the important work you do.

While many NTEU members have lost their jobs, we have not lost our collective voice and now is the time for us to join together and be heard.

Stay tuned for more information on the next phase of our legal challenges.

House Members Pen Letter of Support for IRS Employees

A group of House members is urging IRS Secretary Scott Bessent to halt any further plans for mass firings at the agency.

“This is yet another example of the current administration’s efforts to dramatically reduce the size of the federal workforce without taking into consideration its impact on the American people or our government’s overall budget,” wrote 17 members of the House Ways and Means Committee in a letter on Friday. The lawmakers added that terminating thousands of employees, without due process, is catastrophic for federal employees and their families.

NTEU applauds these members of Congress for standing up for IRS employees and the agency’s mission.

Tomorrow! Member-Only Webinar on Federal Benefits

NTEU’s partner United Benefits is hosting a webinar on Wednesday, Feb. 26 exploring benefits for employees considering retirement or facing layoffs.

The members-only webinar examines five things you should know about federal benefits for employees who are retirement eligible, leave federal service early or who are facing a reduction in force.

Members can register to attend at 11 a.m. or 2 p.m., ET.
