Congress Passes CR; Funding in Place Through Dec. 20 Lawmakers this week averted a government shutdown only to face another funding crunch right before the December holidays. The House and Senate on Wednesday passed a continuing resolution to extend funding at current levels for federal agencies through Dec. 20. House Speaker Johnson (R-La.) has vowed to avoid a year-end omnibus funding bill by having the House continue to work on individual appropriations bills when Congress returns for its lame-duck session following the elections. Whether Congress passes individual appropriations bills, several funding packages or a large omnibus, NTEU is focused on securing adequate funding for federal agencies so employees have the resources they need. |
