NTEU Awaiting Decision on Unlawful Firings

Last week, NTEU led a coalition of unions representing hundreds of thousands of employees in filing a lawsuit challenging the administration’s efforts to break the government. The coalition on Friday filed for a temporary restraining order to stop the administration from firing probationary and “non-essential” employees and any further extension of the deferred resignation program. In a hearing this afternoon, NTEU attorneys argued the coalition’s case for the temporary restraining order. Emphasizing the immediate and significant harm being caused by this administration, we asked the judge to grant emergency relief to employees while the unions’ case is litigated. We are now waiting for the judge’s decision.
