Who is eligible to join?
Our Collective Bargaining Agreement covers all professional and nonprofessional employees of the National Park Service, Headquarters Office, excluding all management officials; supervisors; confidential employees; employees engaged in personnel work in other than a purely clerical capacity; employees engaged in intelligence, counterintelligence, investigative, or security work that directly affects national security; and employees primarily engaged in investigation or audit functions relating to the work of individuals whose duties directly affect the internal security of the Employer, but only if the functions are undertaken to ensure that the duties are discharged honestly and with integrity.
If you are employed by WASO, there is a good chance you can join.
Check your SF-50 (available in your eOPF)
Box 37 of the SF-50 is your bargaining status.
- Code 2583 means you can join our chapter
- Code 8888 means your position is not eligible to join a union
- Code 7777 means that you are eligible to join a union, but there is no union that represents your workplace.
* If you have code 7777 and you are in WASO, there is a chance that the code is an error. Especially if you transferred your position or took a detail - the code may have changed or not been updated.
